  11. I requested this mod from the net several times and received no responses.
  12. This morning I see were N0RWZ has posted his luck with a similar inquiry.
  13. Well, I finally found it so here it is.

  15. Extended RX/TX for Alinco DJ-162
  16.  
  17.     1.  Remove the battery pack.
  18.         Remove the battery plate from the bottom of the radio.
  19.     2.  Remove the back cover from the radio.
  20.         This is a tedious process.  You must take the knobs
  21.         off the top and remove the top plate first.
  22.     3.  Under the Battery clasp on the side of the radio
  23.         (The little sliding thumb switch that keeps the battery
  24.                   from falling off the radio)
  25.             you will find a yellow loop of wire.  This loop is small
  26.          and hard to get to.  You will need a very small pair
  27.          of cutters or scissors.

  29.         --Cut this wire.

  31.     4.  Put the radio back together
  32.  
  33.     5.  Reset the radio.  (You will lose your memories)
  34.  
  35.     6.  Go to the VFO mode.
  36.         Pressing the 'B' key on the keypad will now allow
  37.         you to cycle through the extended rx bands.  It will
  38.         cycle from 2 mtrs, am aircraft, to 800.  The radio
  39.         does NOT have the guts to receive 800.  It just happens
  40.         to be in the processor so don't waste your time listening.

  42.     7.  This same jumper also opens extended transmit.
